We’ve been speaking with various clients about the need to make decisions based off of web-interviews. We’ve had a number of organizations we partner with that previously would never hire unless they meet the candidate face-to-face, completely change their interview process. They are now setting up an initial phone screen as they always have, then a web-interview, and making the decision to hire off of that. In this environment you need to be creative, or you won’t fill the position you have open. We also work with some companies who are insisting on the face-to-face interview- to them we say, good luck!
The time to fill rates for Permanent placement is 4 – 6 weeks IF you have an engaged Manager. This means if you want your new-hire to start in early June you need to start the process now. Would it make sense to start the process now so you won’t be behind the cycle when the Economy is near 100% open? Would you rather be ahead or behind the curve? For contract roles, we can have someone interview and start within a week, again with an engaged Manager.
We work exclusively finding critically talented IT professionals, and contrary to popular belief, the market has stayed very tight for this niche. If you find someone you like, move on them or someone else will. The one advantage employers have that are hiring at this moment is there aren’t as many other companies actively hiring. It’s a great time to find talent since there are fewer other employers you’ll be competing with!
Technology is and will be at the forefront for all companies…now is not the time to downsize but to invest in better systems/networks/technologies!
